REAL DEAL CASE STUDIES
“Knowing” and “Doing” are two different topics. At this month’s Long Island Real Estate Investment Association (LIREIA) general meeting, members and guests will have the opportunity to experience why in both business and in real estate, knowing and doing are two completely different topics.

What you will Experience: Members and guests will kick off Real Deal Case Studies by spending time to get to know the people at their tables. Members and guest will each have an opportunity to share their experiences, strengths, wins and learning opportunities in real estate investing. Following this introductory time period, everyone will be given an assigned number team and will be given a real, real estate deal to analyze, discuss, and form a plan to execute the purchasing or partnering of the deal. Teams will have to work in concert and come to an agreement to provide the best possible strategies for the execution of the real deal and present their findings to the rest of the general meeting. The teams will also be given a set of guidelines to assist in the structuring of the deal, such as cash on hand, and financing rates. 

Following each presentation, members and guests will participate in “round table” discussions and will have the opportunity to share their experiences and ask questions.

Topics that the teams will discuss include:

  • Purchasing Options
    • Flip
    • Hold
    • Double Close/Whole Sale
    • Financing Plans
    • Building a Team & Business Plan
    • Business Development (How will you do the next deal if it comes upon your team?)
    • Exit Strategies

THE STATE OF REAL ESTATE & SPEED NETWORKING

At this month’s Long Island Real Estate Investment Association (LIREIA) general membership meeting, a group of select experts will have the opportunity to present their opinion and relative experiences on the current state of real estate in specified categories. In addition, this month we will feature a special networking session that offers our members the opportunity to meet industry related peers in a friendly and efficient manner.

What you will Experience: “The State of Real Estate” will feature members who are experts within a specified field of real estate and who have been pre-qualified, with an opportunity to present their opinions, views and relative experience on the current state of real estate. This will provide our members with real time information on where the real estate market currently is and where it is heading, and will allow the presenters the opportunity to share their expertise and gain invaluable experience presenting in front of a live audience in an educational setting. Presenters will have the opportunity to speak on the following categories:

  • Real Estate Overview
  • Commercial
  • Short Sales
  • Wholesaling
  • Flips

During each presentation, members will participate in “round table” discussions and will have the opportunity to share their experiences and ask questions.

“ Speed Networking”
If you want the opportunity to meet face-to-face with 5-10 other members where you can share information, look for synergies, offer contacts, provide ideas, and exchange business cards, then don’t miss this speed networking session.

Members will meet one-on-one for five minutes before switching to a new networking partner.

Tip: Speed networking is just the start of a relationship. Unlike speed dating, where the object is to quickly disqualify potential suitors, and find only those your are compatible with, speed networking offers the opportunity to make fast contacts, but it is up to you to foster and develop that contact into a relationship.

CAN YOU “PITCH”?

At this month’s Long Island Real Estate Investment Association (LIREIA) general membership meeting, a group of investors from our membership will have the opportunity to PITCH real deals in a public forum event called “The Pitch”.

What you will Experience: “The Pitch” at the LIREIA will embody the true principles of Entrepreneurship, Investing, and Financial Education.  The core of this interactive forum will feature 5 members who have been preapproved to share one investment deal, real estate or otherwise. Each presenter will have 10 minutes to pitch. After each presentation a panel of specialists, investors, and advisors will take 10 minutes questioning the presenters in front of the audience and offering their insight, and expertise. The panelists are encouraged to question, critique and be honest. Their goal is to draw out information and extract the truth.  One panelist will also score presenters based on style, delivery of the required information, and overall presentation. Additionally, there will be time allotted for a maximum of three questions from the audience.

  • What type of deal is it?
  • Who is on your team?
  • What is the financing?
  • What is the Return on Investment?
  • What’s stopping this investment right now?

 

The winner will be awarded a special prize at the end of the event!!!

Upcoming Events

  • General Meetings General membership meetings held 2nd Tuesday of every month at The Huntington Hilton. These monthly meetings are attended by approximately 150-200 people; both members and the general public. Each features a series of “segments” to entertain, inform, and offer networking opportunities.

  • LIHREIA The general membership meeting for the Long Island Hispanic Real Estate Investment Association, spoken in spanish, meets the last Tuesday every month at The Four Points Sheraton in Plainview.

  • Continuing Ed These events include on-site seminars & workshops as well as online webinars. Topics run the gamut from Getting Started, to Foreclosures, through Finding Money, and beyond.
